The CMP Recertification Application Form is available on the CIC website.
Complete the form and send it to CIC with the $200 USD fee no later than October 15 of the year in which the CMP certification expires.
Per a recent decision by the CMP Board of Directors, expired CMPs will be required to successfully pass the written examination to regain legal use of their designation in the future. CMPs who do not recertify will lose their designation!
For continuing education opportunities, please contact CIC member organizations directly for more information about their education programs. Recertification points are also offered for CMP volunteer activities such as attending CMP Conclaves and covering the CMP booth at industry events.
CMPs with valid addresses with CIC will receive reminder notices in the year in which they are due to recertify. CMPs may update their address information and review their certification information on the CIC website.
Special Recertification Notice
To be recertified, CMPs are required to complete a minimum of 5 hours of continuing education and earn a minimum of 60 points on the application. All points claimed must have been earned over the previous five years, since the date of initial CMP certification or the date of last recertification (whichever is later).
The Global Certification in Meeting Management (CMM)
The CMM offers senior level meeting professionals the opportunity for:
* Education in strategic thinking and acting, * Global certification and industry recognition, * Potential career advancement, * Senior-level networking community.
You may already be a part of strategic management within your organization or have the potential to be recognized as contributing substantially to an organization's bottom line. If so, the CMM designation offers you the potential to make substantial additional progress in this endeavor. It also offers you the prestige that accompanies a premiere, worldwide designation in the meetings industry!
By focusing on management issues critical to advancing in the meeting industry, the course can benefit all senior meeting and event professionals-whether you seek the prestige and career rewards that come with the CMM designation, or the training in senior management processes and inspiration that improve your strategic planning skills.
Through a four-step process, candidates progress deeper into strategic thinking and acting. These steps include acceptance into the program and successful participation in an educational journey through the following three aspects of the program:
Part I PRE-RESIDENCY - Active participation in an MPI learning group using technology and various reading assignments;
Part II RESIDENCY - Attendance at an intense four-½ day residency program in a campus-or conference center atmosphere with participation in a group case study and individual examination;
Part III POST-RESIDENCY - Completion of a post-residency business project.
