If you don’t know the definition of an eagle, birdie, bogey, or a scramble or best ball format, or a mulligan, yips, dogleg, or a gimme—we bet you know the definition of the “Nineteenth Hole.” If you don’t know that, the “Nineteenth Hole” is the clubhouse bar at the end of the round, then you need to come out and play in our annual chapter golf tournament. Golfers and non-golfers alike are welcome to join us on May 17th for a day of fun and competition at Teal Bend Golf Club. We are also hosting a Fete the evening before to get everyone in the spirit for a round of golf and don’t forget—the “Nineteenth Hole.”
Furthermore, this event has heart! MPISSN is collecting donations of Costco and/or Target gift cards to help Woodland Community College Foster & Kinship Care Education (FKCE) supply for children & families in need. Please bring the gift cards with you to the Fete on Wednesday or golf on Thursday.) For more information on FKCE, visit www.yolofostercare.com
FORMAT: We are introducing a new format of play that will add a fun and competitive spirit to the tournament. Rather than foursomes we will have threesomes with two threesomes (six players) teeing off together. The opposing team will keep score for strokes and mulligans. We encourage team members to come up with a name and wear shirts or other identifying attire proudly announcing who you are representing. This tournament is for the novice golfer as well as the experienced.
Invite a friend/colleague, post the information on your Facebook account, but most importantly show up for a lot of fun with fellow industry members and support our chapter. So, get out to a local golf course, tee it up, and practice for the “Nineteenth Hole.”
